Gourd Shekerees

In this class you will learn the basics of creating a wonderful, playable shekeree of your own. You will learn various patterns and styles of cording and beading and have a wide variety of colors of cord and a vast number of choices of beads to create your own unique musical instrument. Many examples of various styles will be provided along with a tutorial. Some students who pick a complicated pattern may not finish in the allotted class time but will have learned all the skills necessary to easily finish in a short time afterwards.

Students will make a hat from leather and embellish it with gears, feathers, and a small chain etc. You will be attaching Faux Fur to the gourd for the beard, then attach the hat. Come have fun in this class!
