Gourd Ornament Workshop: Exploring Decorative Techniques

Discover the art of transforming natural gourds into beautiful, one-of-a-kind ornaments! In this hands-on class, students will learn 4 different techniques for creating gourd ornaments they will treasure for years to come .
Each student will be using their gourds and transforming them into 12 different "bright and shiny" ornaments using a variety of decorative methods. Techniques may include painting, staining, decoupage, yarn, and glitter along with guidance on gourd preparation, and finishing.
Each student will leave with a collection of unique ornaments - perfect for giving to family or friends or keeping to enjoy yourself. This class is suitable for beginners as well as those with some crafting experience, and encourages creativity, experimentation, and an appreciation for this traditional folk art.

In this class the student will take a prepped gourd and use a color shift paint on the outside. Students will learn how to wrap a rope to be used embellish the rim of the gourd, creating a one-of-a-kind gourd unique to each student. The instructor will have a number of different color options to choose from.

Cannonball Vinyl Resist
